10 Hour OSHA Outreach Training Program

Course Description: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach Training 

This course is delivered by OSHA-authorized trainers through the OSHA Outreach Training Program. It is designed to provide entry-level construction workers with a basic awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards. 

The primary goal is for students to recognize, avoid, abate, and prevent hazards on a construction site. Topics include information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. 

*Course Curriculum (Minimum 10 Instructional Hours): 10-hour classes must take a minimum of two (2) calendar days.

  • Introduction to OSHA: 1 hour (covers workers' rights and employer responsibilities)

  • OSHA Focus Four Hazards: 4 hours (Falls, Electrocution, Struck-By, and Caught-In or -Between)

  • Health Hazards in Construction: 30 minutes

  • Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment: 30 minutes

  • Elective Topics: 2 hours (topics such as Excavations, Scaffolds, or Stairways and Ladders)

  • Optional Topics: 2 hours (expansion on required topics or other industry hazards) 

Class Requirements and Policies

  • Attendance Limits: Per OSHA Outreach Training Program Requirements, in-person classes must have a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 40 students.

  • Course Duration: Training must be conducted over a minimum of two days, as OSHA limits instructional time to a maximum of 7.5 hours per day.

  • Replacement Cards: Students may request only one (1) replacement card per class. Replacement cards cannot be issued for training that ended more than five (5) years prior to the request. Fees may apply.

  • No Online Training: MAST does not provide online OSHA Outreach Training. Only OSHA-authorized online providers may conduct these classes.

  • Private Classes: To arrange a private class at your facility or our Columbus, Ohio classroom (max 20 people), call (614) 252-0565. Discounts are available for larger groups (up to 40 students).

  • Cancellation Policy: All credit card refunds are subject to a $25.00 transaction fee. MAST reserves the right to reschedule classes that do not meet minimum attendance requirements.

* A 10-minute break is required for every two (2) consecutive hours of training (including student contact hours and time spent on administrative matters or tests), and a 30-minute lunch or meal break is required for every six (6) hours of training (including student contact hours and time spent on administrative matters such as attendance or tests). Training is not allowed during lunch or meals, or during other break periods.
