This course is designed for workers at Hazardous Waste Sites who will be exposed to hazardous substances, health hazards, or safety hazards. This training fulfills the mandatory off-site instructional requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i) and 29 CFR 1926.65(e)(3)(i) for general site workers.
OSHA Compliance Notice: To be fully certified under OSHA law, the employer must ensure that in addition to this 40-hour classroom training, the employee receives three days of supervised field experience under the direction of a trained, experienced supervisor.
Core Training Topics
In accordance with OSHA requirements, this course covers:
Regulatory Framework: Understanding OSHA 1910.120 and Hazard Communication (GHS/SDS).
Hazard Recognition: Identification of chemical, physical, and toxicological hazards.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Proper selection, use, and Respirator Requirements.
Site Control: Implementation of work zones, Decontamination Procedures, and site security.
Technical Safety: Fall protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and Electrical Safety.
Emergency Response: Emergency Response Plans and medical surveillance.
Administrative & Registration Policies
Certification: Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion as required by 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(6). An annual 8-hour refresher is required to maintain this certification.
